DRIFT SCHOOL
Our "bring your own car" Drift School at Mallala will be run slightly different than usual. This will take place across not only a wet skidpan, but also 4 different exercises on the main track, including small peanut track, beginner entries, advanced entries and the esses. Tandems are allowed and encouraged for those willing to try!
Please note that students for the BYO Car Drift School are required to bring their own car to use and learn in. If you do not have your own car, we have a "Drift Car Rental" opportunity (see separate event registration page).
What you get: Exercises will go from 9am - 11.45am, with a lunch break then an hour of open track from 12:15pm-1:30pm. Tuition included/available for both.
SKIDPAN
The Skidpan will be available in the afternoon as the "Peanut Track" Layout from 1.30pm-5.30pm for Skidpan Only drivers.
What you get: 4 hours of shared track time on the Skidpan from 1.30pm-5.30pm
PRAC
For drivers who want to drift the main Mallala track, there will be 2 groups which will run half an hour sessions at a time. (Beginner/Intermediate & Experienced/Advanced).
What you get: 4 hours of shared track time on the Main Track from 1.30pm-5.30pm.
GROUPS:
BEGINNER
Beginners are new to drifting and/or may still be learning the basics such as entries and linking corners. Passengers are ONLY allowed with a cage on the main track.
INTERMEDIATE
Intermediate drivers can link corners and may have progressed from School or other track time. Tandems are allowed, no cage is required, passengers are ONLY allowed with a cage on the main track.
ADVANCED
Advanced drivers can confidently link corners as well as tandem. as the run ups will be open and not. For the main track, cages are required for this group restricted. Tandems/Trains and passengers are all allowed.
FAQs:
What kind of car do I need?
- A rear wheel drive car! There is no requirement for a specific track car or rollcage for the School / Skidpan events (unless you have a convertible). There is also no requirement for a roll cage in Beginner or Intermediate groups, however, if you don’t run a cage, you must have OEM side intrusion beams fitted as a minimum and you can't take passengers.
- Advanced Class drivers MUST have roll cages
- To take passengers on main track, you MUST have a roll cage (excluding school).
What kind of licence do I need to enter?
- Racers Clubman Licence (single event permit is $30). Click Here to purchase either a Single Event or Annual License online
ENTRIES CLOSE:
Thursday before the event or when entries sell out.
REFUND POLICY:
All entries made before 7 days out from the Event are entitled to a full transfer of their entry fee to another Drifting SA event if they notify before the event on the day. Entries after are non-transferable/non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or postponed by Drifting SA.
