    Entries are now open for our May Night Prac (on track 4pm-8pm) at the Bend before Round 2 of the SA Drift Series! Two groups, running 30 minute sessions! The layouts will be extended versions of Sunday's Competition layout.

    WHAT GROUP DO I ENTER?

    INTERMEDIATE - You must be able to confidently stay on track and link corners. This class is recommended for those looking to mostly do solo driving, but tandems are allowed for those wanting to learn. Layout is extended version of Sunday's L2 layout. No cage is required. No trains. We may contact you to confirm your driving experience if you haven't progressed from one of our Drift School / Skidpan events. Unfortunately we cannot have Beginners on Main Track.

    ADVANCED - This class is recommended for those who have more experience and want to tandem more. The run ups will be high speed and the layout will be an extended version of Sunday's L1 layout. Cages and harnesses required.

    Passengers and tandems are allowed in all groups (with same driver/passenger requirements - see regulations below for exact details).

    Roll Cages / Harnesses: Intermediate: No roll cage required and standard seat belts are accepted, but OEM side intrusion beams are mandatory (which should be there unless you've removed them!).

    Passenger Rules: Minimum age: 14 (Guardian required for under 18s). Passes will be available for purchase in person.

    Pit Spots / Pitting with Friends: Book an available pit after entering – link in confirmation email (check your junk mail!). Please do not message us about changing your pits - it is a self-serve system, first come first served, so coordinate to enter at the same time and book pits near each other. 

    Licensing: Racers Clubman Licence (single event permit is $50 which lasts whole weekend, or annual is $95). Click Here to purchase. MA or AASA NOT accepted.

    Car Sharing: Allowed with an extra fee. If driving in different groups, they will need to do their own entry form and pay full fee. If driving in the same group, please select the 'Guest Driver' option in your entry form.

    Overnight Parking / Accommodation: Cars are permitted to stay at the track in their pits overnight Saturday night if you have entered Round 2, otherwise they will need to be removed once track activity ends. The track will be locked overnight. No camping permitted - check out Big4 Caravan Park or Rydges Pit Lane.

    Spectators: All spectators, including pit crew, must purchase tickets via driftingsa.com.au/tickets

    Refund Policy: No refunds unless the event is cancelled/postponed; credits available up until the day before the event if entry was received at least 7 days prior to the event and email is sent before event to president@driftingsa.com.au

    Entries are now open to Round 2 of the SA State Series at The Bend. The SA State Series Drift Championship, with multiple rounds at the world-class The Bend Motorsport Park and one round at Mallala Motorsport Park, is the ultimate test of skill, speed, and determination for drift drivers in South Australia. The Bend boasts a state-of-the-art, purpose-built drift track with seemingly endless, high speed and technical layout possibilities that challenge drivers to push their limits, while Mallala offers a thrilling and historic backdrop for high-stakes competition. 

    Our advanced competitors compete in the L1 Category, while our new competitors have the opportunity to build skills and confidence in the L2 category.

    Interstaters travelling 1000km+ please contact us before entering.

    REGULATIONS:

    Please review the standing regulations here so you are aware of what to expect regarding car setup and driver etiquette. Supplementary regulations will be sent out with further driver information after entry.

    Pit Crew Ticket: Competition Drivers get 1x free pit crew ticket for the competition day. A code will to redeem this ticket will be sent approximately 10 days before the event.

    Passengers: Allowed in all cars meeting regulation requirements (see link above). Passes can be purchased on the day at the Sign On desk. Minimum age is 14 and must be wearing long sleeve top/pants and enclosed shoes. Passengers can only ride during the Practice or Best of the Rest sessions.

    Attire: Helmet (AS/NZS1698), long sleeve tops and pants (ideally 100% cotton), closed toe shoes.

    Spectators: Tickets available online at driftingsa.com.au/tickets

    Deadline for entries: Thursday before the event or when sold out.

    Refund Policy: No refunds unless the event is cancelled/postponed; transfers available up until the day before the event if entry was received at least 7 days prior to the event.

    Entries will open 20th May to members, 22nd May to non-members! Winterfest is a jam-packed freestyle event where you will get to enjoy multiple layouts on the Stadium Circuit across 2 days:

    - Saturday (9am to 8pm)
    - Sunday (9am to 5.00pm).

    The Skidpan is also open 9am - 5pm on Saturday and Sunday in our Meihan replica layout (dry skidpan), with dedicated sessions for each group.

    All levels of drivers catered for - see groups below!

    WHAT GROUP DO I ENTER?

    BEGINNER - Still learning basics but not your first time - must enter Skidpan Only! You will have 6 on track at once. No cage required. 

    INTERMEDIATE - You must be able to confidently stay on track and link corners. No trains. We may contact you to confirm your driving experience if you haven't progressed from one of our Drift School / Skidpan events.

    EXPERIENCED - This class is recommended for those who have a bit more experience and want to tandem more. The run ups will be higher speeds. Cages and harnesses required.

    ADVANCED - High speeds! Think competition level. Cages and harnesses required. 

    No group changes will be permitted due to maximum capacity limits, so please enter the correct group. Passengers and tandems are allowed in all groups (with same driver/passenger requirements - see regulations below for exact details).

    We split the day into two different sessions - Drift School in the morning, then an afternoon Open Skidpan for intermediate/advanced drivers! 

    DRIFT SCHOOL (9AM to 1PM) 

    • Bring your own car, with instructors on hand to jump in the car with you or provide advice from outside!
    • 9AM - 11:30AM: 3 Different Courses on the Skidpan - Wet Courses includes Donuts and Figure 8's, while a Dry Course includes a corner for practicing entries, transitions and tandems!
    • 11.30am to 12 Noon - Lunch break
    • 12:00PM - 1:00PM: Skidpan is converted to an Open Full Track for Drift School Participants to try 1 hour in our Meihan replica layout (dry), with a maximum 6 cars on track at once - a great way to practice your new techniques and just get used to being on track with others!

    Maximum 24 drivers.

    Participants can also choose to enter the Skidpan Session in the afternoon if they have a minimum of intermediate experience, but we recommend booking in advance as we can't upgrade you on the day if spots are sold out.

    SKIDPAN (1PM - 5PM) 

    • For Intermediate and Advanced drivers only,
    • Enjoy the "Meihan Replica" layout on the Dry Skdipan from 1-5pm. 
    • There are no groups, simply 3-5 minute sessions with 8 cars allowed on track at a time. Beginner drivers must enter Drift School instead. 

    Maximum 28 drivers.

    EXPERIENCE LEVELS DEFINED:

    BEGINNER
    Beginners are new to drifting and/or may still be learning the basics such as entries and linking corners. BEGINNERS MUST DO SCHOOL ONLY.

    INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
    Intermediate drivers may have progressed from School or other track time such as Malalla and XPark. You must be able to link corners. Tandems are allowed, no cage is required, passengers are allowed with or without a cage. This is a mixed group with 8 cars on track at once, hence we cannot have beginners who are spinning.

    Passengers: Allowed in all cars with appropriate seating / seatbelts for passengers. Passes can be purchased on the day at the Sign On desk. Minimum age is 14 and must be wearing long sleeve top/pants and enclosed shoes.

    License: Racers Clubman Licence (single event/weekend $50, annual $95) - Purchase here. Drivers under 18 must contact us for approval before entering and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

    Attire: Helmet (AS/NZS1698), long sleeve tops and pants (ideally 100% cotton), closed toe shoes.

    Deadline for entries: Thursday before the event or when sold out.

    Refund Policy: No refunds unless the event is cancelled/postponed; credit transfers to use for future events available up until the day before the event if entry was received at least 7 days prior to the event. All cancellations must be made in writing via email to president@driftingsa.com.au, any other form of communication will not be accepted.
