For those who want to try out Drifting but don't have the car to do so, Drifting SA offers 'Learn 2 Drift' sessions where we supply you with your own Drift car and a personal teacher!
Each session includes:

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOOKING
- You must be already able to drive a car - Minimum age is 14 years old, however anyone younger than 18 must contact us for approval before entering and have a parent/guardian with them. - Participants must please wear long sleeve cotton shirt/jumper and long pants that cover your ankles, as well as enclosed footwear. - A Racers Clubman Licence must be purchased. Our "bring your own car" Drift School at Mallala is a SUPER School that suits everyone from Beginners to more Experienced drivers wanting to improve their skills! Super School takes place across both the Main Track and the Skidpan, with instructors available to jump in the car with you or give tips!
9am to 11.45am - Exercises:
- The Skidpan will be wet for Donuts and Figure 8s for those new to drifting. - Main Track will be broken down into 4 different exercises: including reverse southerns, northerns back'n'forth, small peanut track, and the esses. These courses can be great for even experienced drivers wanting to finesse their skills!
Tandems are allowed and encouraged for those willing to try!
Drivers can move through all exercises as they please!
12.15pm to 1.30pm - Opportunity to Try Full Open Track!
All School Drivers will then have a chance to put their new skills to the test on the Full Main Track! (Skidpan will remain open for Donuts & Figure 8s during this time).
If you wish to continue with the Arvo Prac at 1.30pm as well, please first register here and then visit the Arvo Prac page to enter there - they are separate events.
During 9am to 11.45am, non-instructor passengers are permitted in non-caged cars. However, during open track sessions from 12.15pm, non-instructor passengers are only permitted in cars with a minimum half cage and OEM side intrusion beams.

Roll Cage: Not required for Beginner/Intermediate, but OEM side intrusion beams (non-gutted doors) needed. Minimum half cage with OEM side intrusions (non-gutted doors) required for passengers in any group.
Passengers: Allowed in any cars for morning Drift School session, then for Full Main Track, allowed in cars with minimum of a half cage and OEM side intrusions. Passes can be purchased on the day at the Sign On desk. Minimum age is 14 and must be wearing long sleeve top/pants and enclosed shoes.
License: Racers Clubman Licence (single event/weekend $50, annual $95) - Purchase here
Attire: Helmet (AS/NZS1698), long sleeve tops and pants (ideally 100% cotton), closed toe shoes.
Car Sharing: Allowed with an extra fee. If driving in different groups, they will need to do their own entry form and pay full fee. If driving in the same group, please add 'Guest Driver' in your entry form and you will be charged half price for the extra driver in same group.

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE - Still learning basics OR can mostly link corners; no cage required (no passengers without cage)
ADVANCED/COMPETITION LEVEL - Can confidently and consistently link corners at high speeds as well as tandem. Cages are required.
Tandems are allowed in all groups!
Passengers are ONLY permitted in cars with a minimum of a half cage with OEM side intrusion beams for our Mallala events due to the high speeds.

Entries for Round 3 of the SA State Series at Mallala will open mid-July. The SA State Series Drift Championship, with multiple rounds at the world-class The Bend Motorsport Park and one round at Mallala Motorsport Park, is the ultimate test of skill, speed, and determination for drift drivers in South Australia. The Bend boasts a state-of-the-art, purpose-built drift track with seemingly endless, high speed and technical layout possibilities that challenge drivers to push their limits, while Mallala offers a thrilling and historic backdrop for high-stakes competition.
Our advanced competitors compete in the L1 Category, while our new competitors have the opportunity to build skills and confidence in the L2 category. Interstaters travelling 1000km+ please contact us before entering.
Please review the standing regulations here so you are aware of what to expect regarding car setup and driver etiquette. Supplementary regulations will be sent out with further driver information after entry.
Pit Crew Ticket: Competition Drivers get 1x free pit crew ticket for the competition day. A code will to redeem this ticket will be sent approximately 10 days before the event.

INTERMEDIATE - You must be able to confidently stay on track and link corners. This class is recommended for those looking to mostly do solo driving, but tandems are allowed for those wanting to learn. No cage is required. No trains. We may contact you to confirm your driving experience if you haven't progressed from one of our Drift School / Skidpan events. Unfortunately we cannot have Beginners on Main Track.
ADVANCED - This class is recommended for those who have more experience and want to tandem more. The run ups will be high speed. Cages and harnesses required.
Passengers and tandems are allowed in all groups (with same driver/passenger requirements - see regulations below for exact details).

Roll Cages / Harnesses: Intermediate: No roll cage required and standard seat belts are accepted, but OEM side intrusion beams are mandatory (which should be there unless you've removed them!). Advanced: Roll cages and harnesses required. Other Vehicle Requirements: Please read our vehicle requirements page and see our example scrutineering sheet. Your car and personal safety gear must meet Regulations.
Passenger Rules: Minimum age: 14 (Guardian required for under 18s). Passes will be available for purchase in person.
Pit Spots / Pitting with Friends: Book an available pit after entering – link in confirmation email (check your junk mail!). Please do not message us about changing your pits - it is a self-serve system, first come first served, so coordinate to enter at the same time and book pits near each other.
Licensing: Racers Clubman Licence (single event permit is $50 which lasts whole weekend, or annual is $95). Click Here to purchase. MA or AASA NOT accepted.
