    We’re running two separate sessions across the day, each with its own entry and targeted skill level:

    • Morning: Drift School (Beginner-focused)

    • Afternoon: Open Skidpan (Intermediate / Advanced)

    You can enter one or both, depending on your experience level.

    DRIFT SCHOOL – 9:00AM to 1:00PM

    Beginner drivers must enter Drift School only

    Bring your own car and learn the fundamentals with instructors available in-car or trackside.

    9:00AM – 11:30AM
    3 different skidpan courses:

    • Wet Courses – Donuts & Figure 8s

    • Dry Course – Corner for practicing entries, transitions & early tandems

    11:30AM – 12:00PM
    Lunch break

    12:00PM – 1:00PM
    Skidpan converts to a full dry track for Drift School participants only

    • Meihan replica layout

    • Max 6 cars on track at once

    • Great chance to apply what you’ve learned and get comfortable driving with others

    Maximum 24 cars for Drift School. Shared cars count as 1 car.

    ➡️ Intermediate drivers may also choose to enter the afternoon Skidpan, but this is a separate entry and must be booked in advance. We can’t upgrade you on the day if it sells out.

    OPEN SKIDPAN – 1:00PM to 5:00PM

    Intermediate & Advanced drivers only

    Enjoy the Meihan Replica layout on the dry skidpan.

    • No groups

    • 3–5 minute sessions

    • 8 cars on track at a time

    • Tandems allowed

    Beginner drivers are not permitted in this session – Drift School is required first.

    Maximum 30 cars for Skidpan. Shared cars count as 1 car.

    EXPERIENCE LEVELS DEFINED:

    BEGINNER

    New to drifting or still learning basics like entries and linking corners.
    Beginners must enter Drift School only.

    INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED

    INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

    Able to link corners consistently.
    Experience may include Drift School, Malalla, XPark, or similar.

    FAQs:

    Can I enter both Drift School & Skidpan? Yes - but they are separate entries and aimed at different skill levels. If you’re an intermediate driver wanting to refine your skills in the morning and drive Skidpan in the afternoon, you’ll need to select both entries at checkout.

    Can I share a car? Yes. You can add one guest driver per event entry at half price.

    • Drift School: second driver is half the Drift School entry price

    • Skidpan: second driver is half the Skidpan entry price
      Select the Guest Driver option when entering.

    Car Requirements: Rear wheel drive; check Vehicle Requirements for more details. 

    Passengers: Allowed in all cars with appropriate seating / seatbelts for passengers. Passes can be purchased on the day at the Sign On desk. Minimum age is 14 and must be wearing long sleeve top/pants and enclosed shoes.

    License: Racers Clubman Licence (single event/weekend $50, annual $95) - Purchase here. Drivers under 18 must contact us for approval before entering and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

    Attire: Helmet (AS/NZS1698), long sleeve tops and pants (ideally 100% cotton), closed toe shoes.

    Tyres: We wont have a tyre changer at this event so please bring tyres fitted on wheels! (You shouldnt need any if you're just driving the School).

    Deadline for entries: Thursday before the event or when sold out.

    Terms & Conditions & Refund Policy
    By entering our events, you agree to our terms and conditions:

    • No refunds are available unless the event is cancelled or postponed.

    • Credit for a future event may be issued if you cancel at least one day before the event, and only if your original entry was received at least 7 days prior.

    • Entries cannot be transferred to another participant.

    • Our events often sell out. We use a fair and transparent waitlist process - if a registered participant cancels, the next person on the waitlist will be contacted and given the opportunity to take the spot.

    • All cancellations must be submitted via email to:

      Messages via text, social media, or other methods will not be accepted.

    Join waitlist

    Sold out! Please join the waitlist and if someone cancels for any spot, you'll be contacted ASAP! For those who want to try out Drifting but don't have the car to do so, Drifting SA offers 'Learn 2 Drift' sessions where we supply you with your own Drift car and a personal teacher!

    Each session includes:

    • 30 minutes on a wet skidpan in a drift car with an experienced instructor from Drifting SA
    • Guidance on initiating donut drifts around a cone and/or figure 8 drifting 
    • Helmet provided.

    - Manual V35 Skyline (must be a confident manual driver with a drivers licence!)

    These sessions are strictly limited and sell out fast!

    REQUIREMENTS FOR BOOKING

    - You must be already able to drive a car
    - Minimum age is 14 years old, however anyone younger than 18 must contact us for approval before entering and have a parent/guardian with them.
    - Participants must please wear long sleeve cotton shirt/jumper and long pants that cover your ankles, as well as enclosed footwear.
    - A Racers Clubman Licence must be purchased. (Day single event permit is $50). Click Here to purchase either a Single Event or Annual License online

    WHAT GROUP DO I ENTER?

    INTERMEDIATE/L2 - You must be able to link corners and stay on track most of the time. Tandems are permitted. The run ups will be shorter than the Advanced/L1 group. No cage required.

    ADVANCED/L1 - The run ups will be high speed - you should be a highly experienced driver, driving at L1 competition level. Cages and harnesses required. 

    Passengers and tandems are allowed in all groups (with same driver/passenger requirements - see regulations below for exact details).

    Maximum 40 cars in each group. Shared cars count as 1 car.

    Roll Cages / Harnesses / Vehicle Requirements: Cages required for Advanced/L1 group. Please read our vehicle requirements page and see our example scrutineering sheet. Your car and personal safety gear must meet Regulations

    Passenger Rules: Minimum age: 14 (Guardian required for under 18s). Passes will be available for purchase in person.

    Pit Spots / Pitting with Friends: Book an available pit after entering – link in confirmation email (check your junk mail!). Please do not message us about changing your pits - it is a self-serve system, first come first served, so coordinate to enter at the same time and book pits near each other. 

    Licensing: Racers Clubman Licence (single event permit is $50 which lasts whole weekend, or annual is $125). Click Here to purchase. MA or AASA NOT accepted.

    Car Sharing: Allowed with an extra fee. If driving in different groups, they will need to do their own entry form and pay full fee. If driving in the same group, please select the 'Guest Driver' option in your entry form.

    Overnight Parking / Accommodation: Cars are permitted to stay at the track in their pits overnight Friday night if you have entered Saturday and/or Sunday's Round 1, otherwise they will need to be removed once track activity ends. The track will be locked overnight. No camping permitted - check out Big4 Caravan Park or Rydges Pit Lane.

    Spectators: All spectators, including pit crew, must purchase tickets via driftingsa.com.au/tickets

    Media: Apply for weekend accreditation here.

    Refund Policy: No refunds unless the event is cancelled/postponed; credits available up until the day before the event if entry was received at least 7 days prior to the event and email is sent before event to events@driftingsa.com.au

    Entries to open early April. The SA State Series Drift Championship, with multiple rounds at the world-class The Bend Motorsport Park and one round at Mallala Motorsport Park, is the ultimate test of skill, speed, and determination for drifters in South Australia. The Bend boasts a state-of-the-art, purpose-built drift track with seemingly endless, high speed and technical layout possibilities that challenge drivers to push their limits, while Mallala offers a thrilling and historic backdrop for high-stakes competition. 

    Our advanced competitors compete in the L1 Category, while our new competitors have the opportunity to build skills and confidence in the L2 category.

    Interstaters travelling 1000km+ please contact us before entering.

    REGULATIONS:

    Please review the standing regulations here so you are aware of what to expect regarding car setup and driver etiquette. Supplementary regulations will be sent out with further driver information after entry.

    Pit Crew Ticket: Competition Drivers get 1x free pit crew ticket for the competition day. A code will to redeem this ticket will be sent approximately 10 days before the event.

    Passengers: Allowed in all cars meeting regulation requirements (see link above). Passes can be purchased on the day at the Sign On desk. Minimum age is 14 and must be wearing long sleeve top/pants and enclosed shoes. Passengers can only ride during the Practice or Best of the Rest sessions.

    Attire: Helmet (AS/NZS1698), long sleeve tops and pants (ideally 100% cotton), closed toe shoes.

    Spectators: Tickets available online at driftingsa.com.au/tickets

    Deadline for entries: Thursday before the event or when sold out. Maximum 70 total cars due to single day format.

    Refund Policy: No refunds unless the event is cancelled/postponed. We offer transfers in most circumstances - please see the terms and conditions.
